Comrades ,
Kudos to the spirit of
all our senior citizens represented by our Association across India who have
generously donated to PMCARES/CMRF in response to our CHQ’s call to
join the fight against COVID-19. These donations crossed Rs 34 lakhs as on
11-04-2020 within two week’s time in spite of Country wide lock-down for 19
days. CHQ’s call is to donate one days’
pension to relief fund designated for COVID-19.
144 of our members in
Andhra have responded with as much as Rs 3.36 lakhs of donations so far. Some
of our members may not be conversant with various digital modes of making
financial transactions which is the only available option during this
period.
The much awaited respite
is not in sight as the number of COVID affected cases are increasing and the lock-down
restrictions are likely to be extended for two more weeks. Members who can
donate online can do it now. We cannot move out and should follow all the
guidelines of lock down. Those who are aware of online modes should guide
others to make our call more helpful to the people under distress.
District Secretaries are
requested to continue their efforts to convey the appeal to all our members
immediately to speed up the process of contributions by all ways and means. Let’s
all work from home.
