Pension Anomaly case settled - DOT Order issued today
Further Action :
It is a clear order that DOT has issued on 7-10-2021 on Pension Anomaly Case won by AIBSNLPWA.
Affected pensioners need not apply. CCAs should not demand any application from the Pensioners.
CCAs can revise the pension of the affected pensioners based on the records available in their offices, issue sanction and authorize the Pension Disbursing Authorities, Banks/Post Offices.
There is no need of referring the case to BSNL SSA office or Circle Office.
Banks and Post Offices will calculate the arrears based on the authority issued by CCA. In the case of Banks, their CPPCs may be preparing the Due-Drawn statement. In the case of pensioners drawing pension through Post Offices the Director of Postal Accounts/ General Manager Postal Accounts and Finance will be doing it.
All those who retired during the period from October 2000 to June 2001 are affected by the anomaly and are entitled to revision of pension from the date they retired with all consequential benefits.
There shall not be any change in Family Pension because FP is granted based on Last Pay Drawn by the employee. In the case of those beneficiaries died , nominees will get the Life time payment. If no nominee is shown in the records then it will go to their legal heirs
AN APPEAL TO BENEFICIARIES
Dear Comrades,
You retired about 20
years ago. Some of you were not aware of the loss you suffered in your pension
due to the pension anomaly. Those who were aware of it could not do anything
individually.
For 12 years the issue
was discussed without any result. In 2009 AIBSNLPWA was formed. It started collecting details of
your anomaly.
In 2010, Com. D
Gopalakrishnan sought certain information under RTI Act, collected details and
Com. PS Ramankutty, the then GS of
AIBSNLPWA wrote a letter with 13 annexure to DoT. Thus the ‘closed file’ was
re-opened.
In 2012, Com. G
Natarajan, GS of AIBSNLPWA wrote number of letters to DoT on the anomaly. AIBSNLPWA submitted many
a documents. In 2014 AIBSNLPWA filed the
original case before CAT New Delhi. Leaders of AIBSNLPWA invested lot
of time and energy for the case.
AIBSNLPWA rather
fought six cases, not one.
1. Original Petition
in 2014.
2. Contempt in 2017
before CAT.
3. Caveat in Delhi
High Court.
4. Against DoT’s
appeal in High Court.
5. Contempt of Court
before CAT.
6. Contempt to
Contempt before CAT.
AIBSNLPWA spent about
Rs 5 lakhs from its general fund, a fund that
belongs to its 95000 members for the benefit of 4000 people. We did not collect
a single rupee from you for your case. Now, you will receive soon the benefit
of our efforts for seven long years. Hence, it is quite appropriate to recoup
the amount to general fund of AIBSNLPWA. We do not fix any amount. It is left
to you. Even if you are not a member of AIBSNLPWA we expect a generous
contribution from you. We welcome you to AIBSNLPWA. Arrears shall not be same for all. Those who
lost more will get more now. Those who retired in October 2000 will get more as
arrears.
It is best if you send
your donation on-line to AIBSNLPWA (CHQ), SB A/c No 67100927818; Bank: State
Bank of India, Branch: Chennai Nandambakkam. IFSC of the Branch: SBIN0002239.
Immediately after transferring the amount please send an SMS or Whatsapp
message to our Treasurer Shri T S Vittoban over his phone: 9444923732 intimating your full postal
address so that he can send the Receipt to you.
